live action film adaptation from Popular manga 'Silver Spoon'

Popular manga "Gin no Saji Silver Spoon" would be getting a live-action film adaptation for the spring of 2014.

"Gin no Saji Silver Spoon" is an ongoing manga written by Arakawa Hiromu ("Fullmetal Alchemist") that has been serialized on Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2011. It's a youth story that is themed around dairy farming. The story is set at the agricultural high school in Hokkaido, and it depicts the growth of the kids there.

The protagonist "Hachiken Yugo" will be played by Sexy Zone member Nakajima Kento, while Hirose Alice will take the role of the heroine "Mikage Aki." It was also revealed that Ichikawa Tomohiro will make an appearance as "Komaba Ichiro", one of the classmates of Yugo.

Nakajima commented, "I was able to have a glimpse of a totally different lifestyle through the dairy farming experience and practice for horseback riding. I feel extremely pressured as it's a live-action film adaptation of a manga that all my friends read, but I can't stop the momentum of the 'Gin no Saji.' I am planning to set a fire to it even more."

Reportedly, the filming for the movie has already begun starting this month, and the whole filming will be held in Hokkaido.

The movie will be directed by Yoshida Keisuke ("Jun Kissa Isobe", "Sakukaku"), and is set for release in spring of 2014.
